2009 Organic Home-Grown Vegetable Competition

Michele Harvie and the Local Food Group team have put together a wonderful display about backyard gardening with a lot of cheap and easy ideas to get you growing your own at home!

Local experienced vegetable gardeners John Ditchburn and Rod May judged the fourteen fantastic entries - well done everyone.

This display will be on at the Ballarat Agricultural Show from Friday the 13th until Sunday the 15th of November 2009.

Explanitory signs make the display 'stand alone' but it was much improved by the addition of a volunteer to explain bits and encourage people to take some of the many information brouchures available, or get on board with one of our local community gardens to learn or to share growing experience!

A BIG thank you to the small band of people who were able to give their time and experience to this project.

Please support the businesses that support us!

Formosa Nursary - donated $50 gift voucher, and lent 2 fruit trees for the display

Tankster - lent a tank for the display

Diggers Club - donated seeds, six books on growing heirloom vegetables.
