As corny as it sounds, I can tell you that the young people from Ballarat that are ready and raring to go to Powershift in a couple of weeks really are the leaders of tomorrow.
The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) are getting hundrerds of young people together in Brisbane to talk all things climate change and, empower them to start the transformation we need to become a nation powered by renewable energy.
There are 7 young people interested in attending Powershift in the Ballarat region. They have asked for your help in getting to the event. Here is their request:
"The AYCC have given us three scholarships for flights to the event. However, there are still 5 of us that are in need of financial assistance for flights and we all need help for accommodation. We have estimated it cost's $300 for return flights. Tinbillies backpackers have offered $25 per night/per head for a room for 7 people. We have all saved for tickets to the event, food and any additional transport costs. "If anyone can help us get to Brisbane we would be very grateful. If you would like to donate you can contact Maggie on 0414 713 299 or email

It's not much to ask. Please get in touch and help them out. There are only a couple of weeks until they need to be there!
