It's Tax Time Remember BREAZE Public Fund Donations Are Tax Deductable

ACNC Registered Charity Logo RGBBREAZE’s Public Fund is a registered charity with Australian Taxation Office deductible gift recipient (DGR) status.

The Public Fund’s first major fund raising appeal in 2014 resulted in a 30kW rooftop solar system being installed at Ballarat Regional Industries disability services workshop in Sebastopol with a combination of donations and a Federal Government Grant. This marked the beginning of BREAZE’s “Social Solar” program.

Since then, the Public Fund has focussed on providing rooftop solar (PV) systems to social housing across our region. While initially badged the “One Dollar, One Watt” fundraising appeal, the program has been successful in attracting other contributions, meaning our donations have effectively been multiplied and delivered many watts of solar per dollar donated.

The Public Fund has provided Social Solar rooftop installations to social housing stock managed by Uniting Housing, McCallum Disability Services and The Ballarat Old Colonists Association.
With the current suite of grants and subsidies available for solar rooftop systems, heat pumps, and conversion from gas appliances and batteries, the focus for the BREAZE Public Fund will be to work with social housing providers to provide affordable green energy to their tenants.

The Public Fund Committee works hard to assess individual residences energy consumption patterns, determining the optimal investments in rooftop solar, heat pumps and batteries and preparing funding applications on behalf of the social housing providers.
