The Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, the Hon Lily D'Ambrosio, today launched the second round of the Victorian Government’s $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund. The Fund is now open, with applications closing on 1 March 2017.

Up to $6 million is available in two streams - Community and Industry. Categories will focus on manufacturing, technology, community energy and skills development. Eligible projects may include physical projects, innovative business and finance models, and projects that address skills gaps in the sector.
Who can apply?

Grant funding for individual projects will range from $50,000 to $1 million, with the exception of community energy feasibility studies and business cases with a minimum limit of $20,000 and a maximum limit of $50,000 and $100,000 respectively.
What types of projects are eligible?

Funding is available to support projects in the following categories:


Development of community renewable energy project business cases and feasibility studiesImplementation of community renewable energy projects


Manufacturing: to support the manufacture of new energy technology components and systemsEnergy storage: to support projects that provide innovative solutions to alleviate grid constraints and advance the learnings from already completed and existing storage installations and trialsTechnology: to support innovative and unique projects that enable industry to optimise, adapt or integrate commercially available new energy technologiesSkills and capacity building: to support projects which strengthen capabilities and capacity to innovate in the new energy technology sector.

Smart living and Building Expo 2017smart living expo


As discussed at the November RSAB Meeting, this is a good event to promote your organisation's sustainability programs, projects and initiatives.

We've started planning - have you??

Some businesses signed on for the 2017 Expo, just after the successful completion of this year's event! The early birds have continued to sign up for the 2017 Smart Building and Living Expo, with eight businesses on the list.
The 2017 Expo will be on Sunday the 26th of February, 10am to 3:30pm.
Time to start planning the details, so come along to a fast planning meeting, 7pm next Monday - 17th of October, at Royal Park, Buninyong.

Could you please let folks in the RSA know that round 3 of the Collaborative Councils Grants is now open and will close on Jan 31 2017.

Joint proposals will be funded up to $75K to develop a business case or feasibility study with the group to match 50% of the funded amount by in kind services or financial contribution.

Total available funding is approximately $350,000 and other funding rounds will continue through to 2018.
