2020SBALExpo3Over 2000 people came through the expo, caring enough and daring to make changes to their lives to help the environment.

With over 21,000 people reached via the (free) facebook campaign, along with our paid advertisments in the the local newspapers, and the post card and poster plastering around Buninyong, Ballarat and afar, the word was out about this fantastic sustainability filled day.

The Smart Building and Living Expo has just completed it's 7th year, and this time there were many returning businesses and community groups, plus quite a few first timers - all had a very busy day.

BREAZE Inc. was well represented with almost all the board members "personing" our information stall for a time on the day, as well as helping with set up or pull down. Paul Duggan is the site organiser for the event, and did a fantastic job on the layout, and getting all the competing and sometimes conflicting wants and needs of exhibitors sorted, and the field of dreams built by 9:30 am!

Gayle Terry and Jill at SBALExpo2020The BREAZE volunteers that came to help, either for set up, for running the event, and for packing up, were very much appreciated and were a huge help to us.

The children's free activities - building and creating with the Furals Totally Treehouse, the Buninyong Primary School's solar bikes built by the students, solar boats and planting herbs, and Ladybug face painting were a great drawcard, and children played happily while parents spent some time finding out about sustainable design, or building, or how to make compost!

Thanks to the Buninyong Sustainability organising team, and sponsors (below) that make this event happen, and specifically Andrea Mason, Clare Aitken and Jill Clarke who get the whole thing up and running from 2019!  Time to start planning for the 2021 event - hope to see you all again in February 2021.
