ADVOCACY:
An informal discussion group that will meet —via Zoom in the short term but at local cafés as the pandemic eases— to discuss climate-related issues and how to engage the public conversation and/or raise political awareness via letter writing, social media, and submissions to relevant enquiries etc.
COMMUNITY FORUM:
A steering committee for organising documentary screenings, seminars and online webinars to serve the BREAZE community. If you’ve got events or media experience or who just want to meet like-minded people, bring your ideas and enthusiasm. This group will also run the monthly, evening talks series, Green Drinks. Held at a local bar, Green Drinks offers a program of speakers on a wide range of topics relating to climate change and sustainability.
SUSTAINABLE LIVING
BREAZE’s lunch time Smart Living Ballarat (SLB) talks offer BREAZE members and other locals an opportunity to gain knowledge, practical skills and contacts to be assist them in living a more sustainable lifestyle in the Ballarat region. This action group will assist in identifying speakers, developing and managing these events. It is sponsored by the City of Ballarat. In the short term organisational meetings will be via Zoom and presentations will be livestreamed via Facebook.
SOCIAL SOLAR
Breaze Social Solar (BSS) aims to put rooftop solar onto every not-for-profit building in the region. BSS has added over 67kW of solar PV across the region since 2016— equivalent to removing 60 metric tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere.This Action Group will support the Social Solar program. If you have good interpersonal relationship skills, managerial experience and understand the technology we would love you to hear from you.
