This Forum has been promoted across markets in Creswick, Lake Wendouree, Brown Hill. We have sent it to schools, Councils, across many Facebook groups. Almost everyone we have invited was impressed by the event, agree its an important initiative and say they will be coming.
So NOW is the time to book your place. This forum requires pre-registration. Next week we will be sending attendees a preparation package to offer some background on the subject and encourage you to pull together your thoughts, questions and ideas on the New Bushfire Reality.

The increase in frequency and severity of wildfires in every continent on the planet, barring Antartica, raises the likelihood that Ballarat and its surroundings will face similar extreme events.
The New Bushfire Reality Forum, as part of BREAZE's Adapting to the New Climate Reality Project, aims to bring expert advice to develop an understanding of the increased risks we face and to educate our community in strengthening its infrastructure to adapt to the new climate reality.

The forum features expert talks by
Michael Boatman, Manager of Community Safety and Country Fire Authority, will explain how the new hotter climate reality is making bushfires more frequent, and much more dangerous.
Michael will discuss how fire risks in Ballarat and the surrounding districts will be affectedby a warming climate.
Adrian Whitehead, Director of Council and Community action in the Climate Emergency (CACE),will explore the potential impacts of bushfires on power supplies, public events, our water supply, our homes. It will be a challenging presentation but forewarned is forearmed.
Michael Boatman, CFA, will discuss personal bushfire plans. What plans do we make now to protect our families if fire threatens? Will we stay or will we go? Where will we go? What essential personal items will be in our fire case?
There will also be information stands from Emergency Service providers and local environment groups.
A special feature of the forum will be extended small group discussions to encourage your questions and offer feedback on to Council and Emergency Service providers on current plans for responding to increased bushfire risks.
