Sustainable Living Expo Report

BREAZE at expo Congratulations to FORP committee for another successful Smart Living and Building Expo hgeld at Royal Park Buninyong.

This annual event again attracted a crowd of well over 1000 visitors.

Amongst the 58 stalls there was a large variety of goods and services to investigate, and the crowd was busy and constant.

The stalls included sustainable designing and building,  electric cars,  sustainability and other community groups, plants, and a great variety of sustainable products.

The Grampians Central West Waste and Recovery Group were this years major Sponsor. They were pleased with positive interactions they had with the visitors.

This tied in with this year's theme of  "Waste : War & Peace".

The art display of items made from waste materials showed us other ideas for keeping plastics and old materials out of the rubbish bins.

There was some beautiful, fabulous art on display from many talented Ballarat and Buninyong artists, including Buninyong Primary School's grade 2!

As well as contributing to the art show Buninyong Primary School also demonstrated their Solar Boat Challenge.    Solar Powered boats were raced in a 6 metre pool.    Buninyong Primary has an annual boat challenge where students design and race solar powered boats.

Every year the proceeds of the expo are donated to a sustainable activity.    This year the proceeds will be donated to BREAZE's Social Solar.

A big thanks to all volunteers and helpers who made this day a success.
