Future Gas Strategy?

On Friday 14 June, members of the BREAZE Inc. Board – President, Campbell Mercer and Sue Broadway and Mary Debrett – met with the Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King to present community concerns regarding the Albanese Government's recently released Future Gas Strategy.

A copy of a letter we forwarded to Catherine King, who is also of course a senior Cabinet member in the Albanese Government – being Minister for Infrastructure, Transport,  Regional Development and Local Government – can be down loaded here. To emphasise local community support for getting off gas and the reasons for this we also presented the Minister with a copy of energy expert, Tim Forcey's, My Efficient Electric Home Handbook, and climate scientist, Joelle Gergis' recent Quarterly Essay, Highway to Hell.  (We thank Tim for sending us a complimentary copy of his Handbook ahead of the publication release date.)

We urge BREAZE members to let the federal government know what you think of the Future gas Strategy, which can found here.

In line with our commitment to assist with the implementation of the City of Ballarat's Net Zero Emissions 2030 Plan,  BREAZE Inc volunteers will continue to run forums, events and workshops to help residents get off gas and make their homes more energy efficient, to enable them reduce their use of gas. We believe this is vital to reducing Australia's greenhouse gas emissions and meeting our international obligations on climate action.

BREAZE’s letter to Catherine King MP is here.
