Community Electrification Engagement Program
(CEEP)
Why go Electric?
We’re proud to support Victoria’s transition to electrification through Electrifying Everything. We also know there is good money to be saved while you increase your comfort.
Sustainability Victoria (SV) is supporting communities to electrify through the Community Electrification Engagement program (CEEP). We are excited to partner with Hepburn Energy to help deliver funded activities that will focus on community engagement, education and stakeholder partnerships to encourage Victorian households to electrify their appliances and access Victorian Government electrification incentives such as the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program and Solar Victoria rebates.
Breaze is comprised of passionate volunteers who have undertaken part or whole electrification of their home and transport in Ballarat. Beginning in 2024 Breaze started training interested volunteers to participate in events to share their relatable, obligation free home electrification experiences to interested local community members.
Breaze is partnering with Hepburn Energy to bring Energy Champions across the Central Highlands and Western regions of Victoria. The Region comprises the 11 Local Government areas of Ararat, Ballarat, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Moorabool, Pyrenees, Hindmarsh, Horsham, Northern Grampians, West Wimmera and Yarriambiack. It also spans traditional lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Eastern Maar, Gunditjmara, Wadawurrung, Wurundjeri and Wotjobaluk peoples.
“Our Energy Champions give individual help to anyone who is on their electrification journey. Most will find cost savings and greater home comfort while giving a brighter future to our children.”
Who are the Energy Champions?
Our Energy Champions are people just like you and they’ve completed projects in their home to replace all or some of their gas appliances. They’ve gotten off gas installing heat pumps for hot water, space heating/cooling providing improving the comfort and efficiency of their home (or sometimes their workplace). They may have replaced their gas cooking with electric ovens and more efficient electric induction cooktops. They can cook in peace - not having to open windows or noisily vent out fumes which can negatively impact our health.
Breaze and our Energy Champions are not tied to any supplier, nor installer - we offer independent advice of a general nature. All decisions are yours to make - with help if required to navigate Government information and sign up tasks. You decide what you need or want to do when you want to. We will not pressure you to buy now unlike the repeated slogans you may see in mailed marketing or be told by telemarketers!

Champions’ Days
We also work with Neighbourhood Houses and other Community Centres to allow you to book in for a Personal Consult with our Energy Champions. Champions will sit with you to help put together a plan to achieve your electrification and sustainability goals. This includes:
Assessment of your energy bills to see what makes sense to look at improving
Discuss the merits of various clean energy technologies
What kind of service provider/installer do you need?
Learn from the experience of the Champions who have done it themselves
Pointers to resources to check whether something is worthwhile for you to do
Pointers to the rebates, discounts and special offers available to ease the financial burden
You will get a brief document that says what to do to prepare for your Champions Day consult. That ensures that the time is used efficiently and you know all the details of what we are doing together.
