Energy Champions
Individualised Help to Electrify
This page is all about Energy Champions and helping our community.
These are people who volunteer their time to help members of the community to save money, live more comfortably and secure a brighter future through electrification. BREAZE started off its Energy Champions at the Buninyong Sustainability Fair in February 2025 and it was a roaring success. An extended service is now offered through the CEEP Program and delivered by BREAZE and Hepburn Energy on behalf of the Victorian Government.
Energy Champions can help households, community groups and even small businesses to electrify and save money.
Energy Champions have completed training for working with the community and helping you to:
Clarify what you want to achieve
Sort through the deluge of offers, spam and potential scams
Find options for products and services that meet your needs
Navigate the discounts, subsidies and rebates that are available
Have a structured approach to how you can achieve what you need
Tap into experience from those who have been there before
Energy Champions are available to help through a series of Champions Days that kick off in 2026 at the Buninyong Smart Living Expo on 22 February 2026. A series of 10-12 Champions Days are planned for April through May 2026.
Each Champions Day has slots available to have an individual Consultation for approximately 30 minutes. Check out the further information on the right of this page.

Energy Champions are people from our communities who have been through their own electrification journey. They have volunteered to help other people to ease their own journey and achieve what they need, whether this is saving money, having a comfortable life or looking after the future.
Energy Champions have completed training and freely share their expertise without telling you what to do - just helping.
-
Energy Champions sit down with you and find out what you want to know about and will share their experience, ideas and offer general advice on a wide range of topics that include:
How to save money through electrification, efficient appliances and use of solar energy
Help to avoid scams and choose a good installer. Find products that suit your individual needs. Work with you to find suitable options
Help you understand bills, navigate the jargon and how to get good deals
Direct you to further information and navigate the subsidies, discounts and rebates available
You make the decisions - with solid information behind you
-
Quite simply, you get to talk to people who know what it is like to do things that you are thinking of doing. You get a free consultation that is paid for by Sustainability Victoria and delivered by BREAZE and Hepburn Energy.
If the Champions talking to you don’t have what you need, we have further expertise available at your Champions Day and the ability to get back to you where we need to do some research.
After a consultation, most people find that they have a clear plan to achieve their goals and renewed confidence.

As a champion, you receive free training and support as well as access to some very valuable information. Fact sheets covering more than 15 areas of frequent inquiry, experts in batteries, EVs, and other specialised topics are a phone call away and we work with you to choose which Champions Days for you to attend.
We even pay travel to and from all of your participation and a little bit extra to cover lunches etc.
Most of all, you get to help people and make a positive difference in their lives.
-
A Champions day starts when you book in for one at a day and location that suits you. You fill out a form that tells us what you are looking to discuss and a bit of demographic information.
Champions will usually be in a community facility such as a Neighbourhood House and we will introduce you to two of our Champions who will help you in a Consultation for around 30 minutes.
There may be a large number of people on the day and we will have sufficient teams to get through the Consultations in a morning and afternoon session. Sessions usually run 10-12 and 1 to 3 PM.
You get some followup information and we get in contact with you after about 3 months to see if you managed to get what you needed. We ask you to fill out an online feedback form that goes straight to Sustainability Victoria.
-
We have an online form to book your consultation. It can be found here:
also there is a list of places and times for you to book in at the bottom of the page.
We will get back to you to book you in. It sometimes takes a bit of adjusting due to competition for time slots
-
If you are a community organisation, NGO or Council, you can organise your own Champions day to deliver 4-32 Consultations per day at a location you organise with the CEEP team. Please contact assist@breaze.org.au to discuss details.
